for new year's michael and i headed down to new orleans. we wanted to do something low key {i.e. not on bourbon street} and mainly just get away since we've both been super busy with work. last time we were in new orleans we drove through the garden district and came across magazine street {how did i not know about this place earlier??!?}. so i said next time we came to new orleans we would stay there. and we did. terrell house to be exact.
loved walking magazine street with allll the shops and restaurants....could spend a week here.
of course, we had to walk through a cemetery...
my favorite house we came across {picture doesn't do it justice}....
we had dinner at commander's palace with marshall and jessica black and their friends from monroeville, michael and maconica. {also ran into james carville}
then, we headed to the house of blues to see dr. john for an authentic new orleans experience...
after the concert we walked out onto bourbon street and it was slam packed. after passing a few lucky dog stands we opted for a piece of pizza and headed back to the b&b. {definitely a sign we are getting old!}
on sunday we drug ourselves out of bed and headed here.....
to watch cam play...
this was my first nfl game and i loved it! i'm not sure if all games are like the saints but they definitely know how to do it. lots of people dressed up and a great atmosphere for a game!
the junior saintsations were so cute performing at halftime...
we headed back home on monday {before the ua fans arrived for the bcs championship}. it was a great weekend getaway. here's to 2012!
